There are two(2) main engines and two(2) propeller shafts in the LNG carrier. And there is one(1) clutch on each shaft. When either of two(2) main engines or shaft propellers is failed, the clutch corresponding to the failed engine or shaft propeller can be disengaged. It is to be engaged after the failure has been rectified.
Upon the request from DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering), JangWon SM Co., Ltd. has developed PSCOP(Propeller Shaft Clutch Operation Panel) local control panels which are installed in the engine room near each Starboard and port clutch equipment. Indications and alarm status are repeated to the IAS (Integrated Automated System)in order to be displayed in the corresponding IAS graphics.
The PSCOP is implemented by the conventional relay logics. The hydraulic solenoid valves for the clutch operation are activated by the push buttons in the PSCOP.
- Application : Twin propelled LNG Carriers - Propeller Shaft Clutch Operation
- Supply Record : Total 20LNGC – 40sets for DSME
* Patent Pending Technology of JangWon SM Co. Ltd.
